Hezbollah Drone Strike Kills 4 Israeli Soldiers, Injures 58 in Northern Israel

Tel Aviv: Four Israeli soldiers were killed and 58 others injured in a drone strike on an army base in northern Israel, according to the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). The incident occurred at a military installation near Binyamina, a town located approximately 20 miles (33 km) south of Haifa.

Hezbollah claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that the strike targeted a training facility of the IDF’s Golani Brigade. The militant group said the assault was in retaliation for recent Israeli airstrikes in southern Lebanon and Beirut. The strike involved a “swarm of drones” and is one of the most significant attacks on Israeli military positions in over a year.

The Israeli ambulance service, Magen David Adom (MDA), reported that 61 individuals were injured, with three critically wounded. Of these, 37 were transported to nearby hospitals, including facilities in Hadera, Haifa, Tel Hashomer, Afula, and Netanya. Most of the injured were reportedly inside a communal dining hall when the attack occurred, caught off guard by the sudden assault.

While some Israeli media initially refrained from identifying the exact location due to censorship, the IDF later confirmed it was the Binyamina base. The strike reportedly involved a low-level drone launched from Lebanon, which failed to trigger early warning systems. Emergency services were seen rushing to the scene, with helicopters and ambulances transporting casualties across northern Israel.
